A lot of older uPVC doors still have the basic euro cylinders that burglars can snap in seconds. When we repair a door we will usually recommend upgrading to a British Standard anti-snap cylinder at the same time. It is a small extra cost that makes a real difference to your security and often ticks the box your home insurer is looking for. We will only suggest it where it genuinely helps, never as a hard sell.

It's worth sorting sooner rather than later. A stiff door is usually the mechanism starting to wear or the door dropping slightly. Catch it early and it's often a quick adjustment; leave it and you risk the gearbox failing with the door locked shut.
